Looking for Leadership Experience? Try the Executive Board!

Executive Board Fall 2017

For the 2018-2019 year, the Franklin Residential College is looking for driven members to take on a role in the Executive Board. The Executive Board works closely with the Director's Assistants, FRC Director, and FRC Academic Advisor in Residence to coordinate events and campus outreach.  Each position is elected by FRC members, so interested members should write a short speech about why you would be best for the position and then share your platform with your peers on election night this fall.  Feel free to run for as many positions as you would like. This is an excellent opportunity to build your resume, network with faculty/staff on campus, and make a great impact on the FRC!  If you are considering applying to be a Director's Assistant for the FRC in the future, which is a paid position where you manage and help run events and tasks for the FRC, this is an excellent way to get your foot in the door and gain relevant experience for the position. The duties and responsibilities of each Executive Board position are listed below.

Service Chair: Coordinate with on-campus and off-campus organizations to plan service events for members.  (You will be expected to attend your events and make sure they run smoothly)

Web Design Chair: Maintain and regularly update FRC website and oversee development of social media presence

Public Relations (PR) Chair: Advertise all upcoming events of the FRC. Collaborate with other Housing partners to brainstorm ideas for possible joint events.  Work closely with the Web Design Chair to influence website development and social media presence.

Academic Chair: Coordinate with faculty and staff to plan academic events for members. (You will be expected to attend all of your events and make sure they run smoothly)

Social Chair: Brainstorm ideas and coordinate with on-campus organizations to plan social events for members. (You will be expected to attend all of your events and make sure they run smoothly)

Diversity & Inclusion Chair - Collaborate across the entire Executive Board and brainstorm ideas to actively promote diversity and inclusion within the FRC. Execute one large event during the Spring semester devoted to promoting diversity and inclusion.  (You will be expected to attend your events and make sure they run smoothly)

As FRC student leaders, each member of the Executive Board is expected to regularly attend FRC events and lead by example so that regular FRC members have the opportunity to get to know them, ask questions, and present ideas for the Board to consider.  Although you are working closely on important FRC tasks, the Executive Board is a fun leadership opportunity and an excellent way to build resume credentials. More details regarding specific dates for elections will be released once the school year starts. If you have any question about the Executive Board or any positions, feel free to contact us at frc@uga.edu.
