Dr. Patricia Yager (Ph.D., University of Washington, 1996) is a Professor of Marine Science at the University of Georgia. Her interdisciplinary research bridges oceanography, marine ecology, and biogeochemistry, focusing on the interactions between climate and marine ecosystems. Her recent projects explore the effects of melting ice sheets on Arctic and Antarctic coastal productivity, and she has also studied carbon fluxes in the Amazon River…

In this talk, Dr. Rachel Roberts-Galbraith will help us learn about some of the strangest and most interesting superheroes of the animal kingdom. We'll also learn how scientists (like her) are studying extraordinary animals to understand biology relevant to human health, medicine, and agriculture.
