On Monday, Jan. 27, FRC welcomed Ms. Linda Davis, founder of the Friends of Brooklyn Cemetery, and local historian Mr. Fred Smith for a panel discussion of African-American history and burial practices in Athens. Gee Egberi spoke about the history of Gospel Pilgrim cemetery and FRC's restoration efforts, and History PhD candidate Tracy Barnett presented data from her digital humanities project mapping Gospel Pilgrim and providing detail on the lives of those buried there.
