Rutherford Hall Programming Room

Dr. Patricia Yager (Ph.D., University of Washington, 1996) is a Professor of Marine Science at the University of Georgia. Her interdisciplinary research bridges oceanography, marine ecology, and biogeochemistry, focusing on the interactions between climate and marine ecosystems. Her recent projects explore the effects of melting ice sheets on Arctic and Antarctic coastal productivity, and she has also studied carbon fluxes in the Amazon River plume. Dr. Yager has served as chief scientist on several major oceanographic expeditions, including aboard the Research Icebreaker Nathaniel B. Palmer to the Amundsen Sea, Antarctica. She currently serves as Director of the Georgia Climate Project and UGA’s Georgia Initiative for Climate and Society. Join us in the Programming Room to hear Dr. Yager speak on this topic!
