On Oct. 13, FRC welcomed Dr. Christopher Sieving of the Department of Theatre and Film Studies. Dr. Sieving shared his research on the actress Edie Sedgwick, one of the most famous of Andy Warhol's "superstars" in his experimental films of the 1960s.

FRC, the Institute for African American Studies, and the Department of Textiles, Merchandising, & Interiors collaborated in purchasing and distributing copies of Hood Feminism by Mikki Kendall for a socially distanced discussion around Lake Herr

In the spirits of FRC preparing for their set off to Sapelo Island, Dr. Damon Gannon, Associate Director of the UGA Marine Institute on Sapelo Island, presented student research that he and his colleagues oversee in this critical environment on the Georgia coast the evening of October 7th.

Hello! My name is Savannah Jane, and I’m a third year from Smyrna, Ga. I’m double majoring in Linguistics and Cognitive Science with a certificate in Interdisciplinary Writing. This will be my third year in FRC, and I’m so excited to get to know all the new members!

On Sept. 17, Constitution Day, FRC residents met with Dr. Ehlers to watch the lecture “On Juneteenth: History, Memory, the Present and the Future,” by Dr. Annette Gordon-Reed of Harvard University.
